Policy
In compliance with article 11.2 of the National Internal Rules of lawyers (Règlement Intérieur National de la profession d’avocat), the firm’s fees are set according to custom, client’s situation, difficulty of the case, expenses incurred by the lawyer, its reputation and its diligence.
Setting
Our fees are billed on a time-spent basis. Fixed-price billing is possible, but requires perfect visibility of the foreseeable work involved in the case. When it is possible, its content is determined on the basis of the work to be carried out and the procedures to be foreseen. Added to the lawyer’s fees are (i) value-added tax (fees are fixed and invoiced exclusive of tax and increased by VAT at the current rate of 20%) and (ii) where applicable, the remuneration of other service providers as the case may be (bailiff, postulant, expert, etc.).
Invoicing
Invoices are issued on a retainer basis, and are always accompanied by a detailed statement of all work performed on the case. This statement is also provided on simple request for information on the services invoiced and those still to be invoiced when this is foreseeable.
Fee agreement
A fee agreement is sent to the client when the file is opened. In particular, it sets out the lawyer’s obligations and the fee structure.
